Quilt Show Featured Quilter

Our Featured Quilter is Terri Tomoff from Crofton, Maryland. Terri is an exceptional quilter. She has been a member of the Southern Comforters Quilt Guild for 14 years, and has been quilting for nearly 25 years. Terri has made quilts and other items for family and friends. She also has made and donated many quilts for various organizations including quilts for childhood cancer fund-raisers, and tote bags as “Thank You” presents for approximately 150 people in her life; Bob Barker and Miley Cyrus are two famous recipients of her tote bags!

Terri says she really loves the fact that quilts serve dual purposes! The beauty of the crafting, colors and fabric, and the fact quilts can keep you warm and cozy snuggled under one! She also loves photography, especially taking pictures of her family and her dogs, plus botanicals and nature! Terri says she wants to express the sunny side of life through her quilts and photos and other life musings!

Terri has been married for almost 25 years to her husband Bill, and has two children, Olivia, 20 and Ryan, 17. She has lived in Crofton for 16 years.

Her interests include: Quilting, Photography, Technology, Soccer Officiating, Running, Reading, and Dogs.

Her favorite books include: Poisonwood Bible, To Kill a Mockingbird, Tom Sawyer, Life of Pi, The Help and Steve Jobs

I hope your enjoyed learning about Terri. Visit the show to see her fabulous quilts and speak to her about her Love of Quilting!

Appraisals at Quilt Show

Once again this year, Phyllis Twigg Hatcher, certified quilt and other textile appraiser will be at our quilt show doing half-hour appraisals. Bring in your own work, the quilt you found in your Aunt Gertrude's attic, a lucky find from the antique mall, whatever, and find out what its value would be for insurance purposes. Members can have one of the quilts they've entered into the show appraised as well. The cost is $50 payable to Phyllis. Send Pat Scully an email at pescully@law.gwu.edu to schedule an appraisal.
