| January 11 | Trunkshow of Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) “This is a Quilt!” Check out SAQA’s second Trunk Show. Seven trunks, containing 30-50 art quilts each, will travel the globe between 2011 and 2013 |

| February 8 | Guest Speaker - Polly Mello - Quilts that go Bump in the Night Come and explore the darker side of quilting, an evening of creepy, crawly quilts from the collection of Polly Mello. The original macabre antique quilt and needlework trunk show as seen in the September/October 2008 issue of "Quilters Newsletter Magazine". This lecture includes mourning quilts, coffin drapes, quilts of presidential demise, spider and snake quilts (see my May/June 2011 article "Snakes Alive" in Quilters Newsletter Magazine"), quilts and needlework about infamous events (the sinking of the the Titanic and the Lindgergh kidnapping) and my favorite: creepy crib quilts. The quilts will be crawling out of the dark basement to join you at the February meeting. Come and have a fun, creepy evening! |
